According to Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the crash happened around 10AM at the 8km peg along the Rusape-Nyanga road.

Police reports state that an Isuzu pickup truck, carrying three people, attempted to overtake a bus.

During this maneuver, it collided head-on with an oncoming BMW vehicle driven by Bunjira, who had one passenger with him.

The force of the collision proved fatal for two passengers traveling in the Isuzu pickup truck.

Three other individuals involved in the crash sustained injuries.

While the police confirmation specifies the deceased were from the Isuzu, the condition of Bunjira and his passenger was not explicitly detailed beyond being among the five people involved – two deceased, three injured.
