THE Road Development Agency (RDA) has disclosed that its most recent condition assessment of bridges and culvert structures revealed that 401 are in critical condition. The RDA also says it will implement aggressive measures to deal with the continued prevalence of overloading by heavy goods vehicles, especially tipper trucks, on public roads. Speaking during a press briefing yesterday, RDA Board Chairperson Eng Eugene Haazele said of the 401 structures in bad condition, 71 were bridges while 330 were culverts.
“The most recent condition assessment of these structures revealed that 6.12 per cent, translating to 401 structures, are in critical condition. Of this figure, 1.08 per cent (71 structures) are bridges and the other 5.04 per cent (330 structures) are culverts…. Do you agree that child defilers should be castrated?
