The gathering on july 24, held at the Mozambique–China Cultural Centre, drew more than 350 government and business representatives from China, Mozambique, Macau, Hengqin and other regions. Centred on the theme “Investing in Logistics and Infrastructure: Driving the Engine of Development”, the meeting also featured over 200 business-matching sessions. Manhique described the event as “profoundly significant” for Mozambique’s economic diversification, while APIEX director Luís José Machava underlined that infrastructure investment would be a “massive driver” of future growth.

CCPIT vice-chairman Liu Jiannan pointed to strong complementarities between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, urging deeper trade and investment ties, while IPIM director Sam Lei noted the meeting coincided with the 10th anniversary of the China–Mozambique strategic partnership, which was elevated this year to a “Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.” Delegates also visited local enterprises, ports and infrastructure projects, and joined a seminar on Mozambique’s business opportunities. The Macau SAR Government said the meeting reinforced Macau’s role as a “precise liaison” for cross-border industrial chain co-operation. The next edition of the Entrepreneurs Meeting will be hosted by East Timor, with Macau pledging continued support to consolidate its position as a bridge for economic and trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
