24 appear in court for contravening fish ban

THE Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has recorded several arrests for contravening the 2025/2026 Annual Fishing Ban, with 24 suspects currently appearing before court. In a statement, Wednesday, the Ministry Principle Public Relations Officer Benny Munyama said two suspects were arrested in Kafue District after being found in possession of illegal fishing gear, including mosquito nets measuring approximately 3,200 metres. He said operations in Luapula Province included 28 cases of non-compliance.
