The farming community around eMalahleni has been rocked by two violentfarm attacksin just a matter of five days, reportsWitbank News. On the night of January 30, a man was asleep when he heard voices outside his yard. Moments later, five-armed men stormed into his home.
He told the police that three of the intruders had handguns while two wielded knives. The victim was tied up with steel wire as the attackers demanded access to the kraal. When he told them the kraal was locked, he heard one of them calling for a bakkie.
Speaking to the police, the man told them that he was held at gunpoint by two of the men, and he listened helplessly as the rest of the group loaded the livestock. This attack comes just days after another farm attack in Bulpan, where suspects slaughtered a cow in front of a security guard before fleeing. In the Bulpan attack, three-armed men broke into a business situated on a farm.

The perpetrators kicked down the door and tied up three guards. They continued searching the rooms and took cellphones, an axe and a panga. The robbers also slaughtered a cow but left it behind. The Witbank SAPS is investigating a case of business robbery and house robbery following both attacks.
