EDITOR — Could the authorities please do something about the non-working traffic lights along Harare Drive between Ashdown Park and Mabelreign.
The current state of the traffic lights has caused deaths that could have been avoided.
Last week, a Haig Park Primary School child was struck and killed by a car.
This road is so busy and kids crossing to go to school have become victims. Police should continuously man the crossing area. Better still speed humps could be constructed, especially towards the crossing zones. We constantly fear for the kids who are being knocked down by speeding cars. I appeal to all drivers to be cautious when approaching all school zones and I also urge parents to ensure someone from home crosses the kids over and picks them up after school. It is really sad to lose children at such a tender age.
