Zimbojam.
wenty-two-year-old Zambian model, Lukundo Nalungwe, was on Saturday night crowned the M-Net Face of Africa 2010 at a glittering event held at the Eko Hotel Exhibition Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
The business administration student fought off stiff competition from a bevy of continental beauties, including Zimbabwe’s own Tholakele Dhlamini and Rosanna Hall, who made it to the top 10.
Rosanna made it into the top three.
As this year’s winner, Lukando walks away with US$50 000, a contract with O Model Africa and gets an amazing opportunity to take part in the New York Fashion Week this very month.
As if that wasn’t enough to make any girl happy, Zenith Bank are also giving Lukundo a US$5 000 shopping spree, while in New York.
Zimbabweans were hoping that one of their two finalists would make it, and they came close — Rosanna was among the top three but it was not her day. The road ended a bit earlier for Tholakele who did not make it into the top five.
Ernania Manuel, an 18-year-old student from Mozambique was the third semi-finalist.
